Monastery's Annual Feast Day
Nine days following the Dormition of the Mother of God we celebrate the leavetaking of the feast. The leavetaking of a feast is the completion of the cycle of this particular feast which we have celebrated for a period of seven to nine days.
On the 23rd of August, we celebrate the leavetaking of the Dormition and we also celebrate the Feast day of our Monastery. His Eminence Metropolitan Sotirios, other Hierarchs, many priests and fervent faithful pilgrims will come to the Monastery on this day the 23rd of August and on the 22nd at night for Vespers, to celebrate and honour our Mother of God the Consolatory to whom our Monastery is dedicated. We invite you to join us for the church services, Vespers will begin at 6 p.m. on Monday the 22nd and Matins and Divine Liturgy will be held from 7:30 to 11 a.m. on the 23rd, followed by trapeza according to the athonite tradition. Refreshments will be served and various food items will be available for purchase on both days.
