The incense is handmade by the sisters, in the traditional monastic way, with AAA grade essential oils and ingredients imported from Europe, thus producing a low smoke and finest quality scented product. Orthodox style incense is burned atop a lighted charcoal in a censer.
Excellent for devotional use at home as an accompaniment to prayer and a great gift idea for your parish or a friend.

Pure resin is ground into a fine powder, which is then kneaded with the essential oil. Kneading brings this mixture to a dough-like consistency. The incense is then rolled by the sisters into spaghetti form and then cut into small grains while saying the Jesus Prayer. The grains of incense are then covered in a fine magnesium powder to mitigate the stickiness and are cured for a few months.
The ingredients used by the sisters are imported from Europe offering you a high quality product. The term "Athonite Style" is used to describe incense which is finished as a grain (not a stick) in a manner faithful to the method of preparation for centuries on Mt. Athos.
